Louie

I had a great interaction with Louie, Boston’s most notable tricycle rider, late last night in the cold.  He’s got a ton of lights on his bike now- something I didn’t remember him always having.  I rode up next to him, complimented his lights and rode off.  He seemed tired from a long day of riding.

I absolutely love seeing Louie around town and I think he is the poster-cyclist for Boston riding.  He rides all year in all sorts of weather- we should all aspire to get on our bikes as much as he does!

LOUIE

It made me think that I wanted to share the “Louie” vimeo made this time last year with everyone.  I don’t personally know who made it- all I know is that they did an amazing job.

ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE NIGH!!!

BRAINS

My Father forwarded me a great article about the not so awesome collabo. of  bicycle riders and headphones; and it’s consequences in the UK.  I’m wicked guilty of this as of late- my ride in from Allston is much further than my old commute from Cambridge.  That coupled with the sweet bluetooth headphones I nabbed from my Brother.  I love riding but the same ride gets boring real fast.  It’s a great article though, click the pic for the whole shebang.. My favorite part is the title…

braaaaiiiinnnsss-  don’t wear headphones and ride people, use your braaaiiiiinnsss.

What a weird encounter Greg and I had the other night with my bike’s big sister. Whoever owns this bike contact me, we should be BFF’s and go for a ride soon! <3Bianca

Flat Tire(d)..

lg_no_tube_under_bead

It seems like I am getting the same text from everyone these past few days-  “I need air in my tires.”  No one knows how to perfectly predict the wacky world of slow leaks and volume x pressure x autumnal temperature; but here’s your number one shot to not getting caught flat again.

School is hectic now and stress is high.  Make life easier and purchase a Topeak Road Morph G.  Find it between $25 and $35 online.  Sometimes $30- $40 at your LBS.  Running on low pressure is a one way ticket to flats.  Properly inflated tires save time and money- they make for more efficient riding- and they’re safer too.  The RM-G works on both presta and schrader valves and it works better than 95% of the pumps out there.
